A man is in a serious condition after a stabbing at a Liverpool city centre bar.
The 30-year-old suffered a knife wound to his stomach during the incident which happened inside Santa Chupitos on Slater Street at around 2.45am on Sunday.
He was taken to hospital, where his condition is currently described as serious but stable.
Merseyside Police have launched an investigation and CCTV and forensic enquiries are currently being sought.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Kameen said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in and around Slater Street in the early hours of this morning and has any information which could assist with the investigation to contact us.
“I also want to reiterate the message about the dangers of carrying knives and the consequences for the people who are found to be carrying them.
“Merseyside Police is committed to combatting knife crime and we will continue to work with our partners to get knives off our streets.
“I would ask anyone who has any information in relation to this incident to contact police so we can find those responsible and bring them to justice.”
