Ronald Koeman has revealed that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will rejoin Everton training next week.
The promising striker was sidelined by an ankle injury during the Blues’ win over Southampton at the beginning of last month.
Calvert-Lewin had made a surprise emergence under Koeman with a series of cameo appearances including a late victory against Arsenal in December.
And the Everton manager has revealed that the 19-year-old is now preparing to make his first steps on the road to recovery by returning to first-team training.
Koeman also confirmed that Romelu Lukaku will be available for Saturday’s visit of Sunderland after visiting a specialist in Belgium over a recent calf problem.
Alongside Lukaku, James McCarthy and Kevin Mirallas have both returned from injury while Mo Besic is continuing to progress on his own comeback trail.
Yannick Bolasie will also undergo a second round of surgery on his season-ending knee injury at the beginning of next month.
He said: “Rom had some calf problems. He’s back, he did training the last few days.
“McCarthy started this week to train with the group and Kevin Mirallas as well.
“Dominic will be back on Tuesday and then we have Mo Besic.
“He’s back in training, doing some parts of training sessions and is on a good way to come back as a player in the team.
“Yannick will get his second surgery in the beginning of March.
“That’s all. We are fit and we are ready for the weekend.”
