Modern day musical Glasgow Girls is heading to Liverpool next month.
Based on real-life events in 2005, Cora Blissett’s production will enjoy a four-date run at the city’s Playhouse theatre between February 14 and 18.
Created by National Theatre Scotland, the story of community spirit and fiery friendship, with uplifting songs, music, dance and humour.
Glasgow Girls is the story of seven teenage girls from Drumchapel High School, whose lives are changed forever when their school friend and her asylum-seeking family are forcibly taken from their home to be deported.
It became one of the most powerful asylum campaigns in recent history – challenging the government, capturing the imagination of the media and inspiring a whole community to unite behind its residents.
Cora Bissett said: “This show celebrates the diversity of people, and the brave and passionate community spirit which characterises Glasgow in the 21st Century.”
Tickets are priced from £10. For more information, call 0151 709 4776 or visit www.everymanplayhouse.com
