Sakho ready to end Liverpool FC career in January

Mamadou Sakho has accepted that he has no future at Liverpool and is preparing to move on from Anfield in the forthcoming transfer window.

Sakho last played for the Reds in April prior to being suspended by UEFA after testing positive during a Europa League drugs test although the case was later overturned.

But the French defender’s attempts to return to the first-team fold have been hampered by an inability to force his way back into Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

He was banished to Liverpool’s under-23 setup after refusing to pursue a short-term loan spell and appeared to seal his fate with an early-morning rant on social media.

The Daily Mirror claim that Sakho, view who signed a five-year deal at Anfield in 2015, has come to terms with his failure to find redemption under Klopp and is ready to move on.

Interest has already been shown with Lille in the 26-year-old’s homeland understood to have expressed interest but his current £100,000 per week wages could prove a deterrent.
