Liverpool have reportedly made a £30 million move for Brazil striker Luan.
The 23-year-old was part of his country’s side which scooped a gold medal at this summer’s Olympics in Rio and could now be on the move to Merseyside.
Brazilian radio station Futebol de Gaucha claim that the Reds have contacted Gremio about the possibility of securing Luan’s services before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
Anfield officials have enjoyed a good relationship with their South American counterparts since Lucas Leiva’s move to Anfield almost a decade ago.
Manchester United were also said to be among the potential suitors for Luan, with Gremio vice-president Alberto Guerra refusing to discount the player’s sale.
He said: “Every good player is targeted. If a proposal arrives [for Luan], we will analyse it.”
