Liverpool FC dealt blow in pursuit for Bundesliga target

Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their hopes of landing Mahmoud Dahoud after the midfielder admitted he was focused on a future with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Gladbach continue to resist the Reds’ approach for Dahoud despite the player’s refusal to commit to a new long-term deal with the club.

But the 20-year-old insists that he is unconcerned by interest from Anfield and across Europe ahead of the forthcoming Bundesliga campaign.

“I am fully focused on Monchengladbach at the moment,” he told Kicker.

“Who says I should leave Gladbach? I still have room for improvement.

“My finishing has to improve, I have to get stronger in the air and I can still improve physically to get stronger on the pitch.”
