Liverpool have turned their attention to Hull City defender Andrew Robertson after seeing a bid for Ben Chilwell rejected.
Jurgen Klopp had identified Chilwell as a possible solution to the Reds’ ongoing issues at left-back but Leicester City have set a £10 million valuation for the 19-year-old, who is yet to make his full Premier League debut.
The Foxes’ asking price has been considered excessive for a player of relative inexperience, especially approaching the final year of his contract at the King Power Stadium.
And the Telegraph claims that Klopp will press ahead with plans to secure an alternative target for the troublesome position, with Robertson reportedly top of his agenda.
The energetic 22-year-old starred in Hull’s promotion back to the Premier League, providing four goals and five assists in 52 appearances for Steve Bruce’s upwardly mobile side.
Klopp is eager to have any transfer dealings concluded before the start of pre-season training at the beginning of July, as he hones plans for the 2016-17 campaign.
