Liverpool are set to battle with Roma to secure the services of Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovavic.
Kovacic was regularly linked with a move to the Reds last summer before joining the current European champions last summer, but failed to force his way into Zinedine Zidane’s plans.
And with the midfielder set to be on the move again, the Reds are reportedly planning to join Roma in the race for his signature.
Returning to Serie A, where he plied his trade with Inter Milan, with Roma on a season-long loan appeared the most likely outcome for Kovacic.
But Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Liverpool may offer a €30 million deal in an effort to tempt Real to allow the 22-year-old to move to Merseyside.
