Barcelona are prepared to pay as much as £136 million to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool.
The current La Liga leaders failed in three bids for the Brazilian last summer, the latter of which amounted to £114m, but the Reds rejected each one outright.
Barca’s interest has not waned in the intervening months, with a return move being touted in the January transfer window.
Now Spanish newspaper Sport claim that the club have accepted they will need to match the £136m they spent to sign Ousmane Dembele in order to capture Coutinho.
According to the newspaper, that fee would be paid in instalments and the club are confident of getting the deal done early next month.
It is believed that representatives of Coutinho recently met with Barcelona to discuss personal terms and strategize on how to convince Liverpool to sell this time around.
