Juventus have hinted that other European clubs are rivalling them for Emre Can’s signature.
Can will be free to negotiate a free transfer with non-English sides from January 1, with six months now remaining on his existing contract with Liverpool.
The Reds risk losing the Germany midfielder, 23, for nothing this summer if an agreement over a new long-term deal cannot be reached in the coming weeks.
Juve are expected to favourites to sign Can but their chief executive Giuseppe Marotta suggested on Monday that they will not be alone in the running.
“Emre Can is a name doing the rounds because his contract is running down,” he told Mediaset Premium.
“I won’t deny he is a player we too have monitored and many important clubs will try to close a deal over the next few weeks.
“We are tracking the situation, nothing more.”
