Divock Origi could be offloaded by Liverpool in a part-exchange deal with Lazio.
Keita Balde and Stefan de Vrij have emerged as transfer targets for Jurgen Klopp this summer as he prepares to strengthen his squad this summer.
The Reds were originally linked with Balde during Brendan Rodgers’ time in charge but Klopp is looking to the forward as additional support for Sadio Mane.
Klopp is believed to be looking at De Vrij as his backup plan should Liverpool fail in their efforts to land Southampton’s highly-rated defender Virgil van Dijk.
According to Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, Lazio are keen to relieve the pressure on their top goal scorer Ciro Immobile, who recorded 23 this season.
With that in mind, it has been claimed that Klopp could offer Belgium international Origi to the Serie A club in a bid to seal the double transfer.
The 22-year-old has faced a turbulent season, scoring only seven goals in 34 Premier League appearances, amid frustration over his amount of game time.
In March, Origi hinted that he may pursue regular first-team football away from Anfield.
“It’s a bit frustrating that I don’t play a lot,” he said at the time.
“It has been a while since I’ve been able to play a few games in a row.
“Last year, it was easier because we were still in the Europa League and competing in two cup competitions.
“As a result, there were more chances. This season is difficult to play a lot.
“At the end of the season, I’ll make an assessment. I need to remain calm.”
