Liverpool have reached an agreement with Watford for the transfer of Jerome Sinclair.
Sinclair, who joined the Reds’ academy in 2011, will move to Vicarage Road on July 1 but negotiations over the 19-year-old’s future previously appeared to be heading to a tribunal.
As a player under the age of 23, Liverpool would have been entitled to compensation for overseeing the striker’s development which threatened to drag on for several months.
But following ‘amicable and professional discussions’, Anfield officials have confirmed that a deal to secure Sinclair’s release, understood to stand at £4 million, has been agreed between the two clubs.
Sergi Canos’ future, meanwhile, appears no clearer after he stalled on a move to Bristol City.
Negotiations to extend the Spaniard’s stay at Liverpool reached an impasse at the end of May with the midfielder in line for a return to the Championship, where he spent a spell on loan with Brentford last season.
A move to Ashton Gate had appeared the most likely destination after a bid of £2.5 million was accepted but Canos has put talks over a move on hold amid interest from Norwich City.
