Kolo Toure’s fate confirmed in Liverpool FC release list

Liverpool are set to part company with Kolo Toure after he featured among the departees in their retained and released list.

The lists submitted by all 20 Premier League clubs was made public on Friday afternoon and detailed the fates of a series of out-of-contract players.

Toure is the most high-profile name to feature for the Reds with the veteran defender’s contract set to expire at the end of June.

The 34-year-old, a free transfer from Manchester City in 2013, has always stated his desire to stay at Anfield and is a popular player with both supporters and teammates.

Others that feature on the released list are Jordan Rossiter, who has already signed for Rangers, and Jerome Sinclair, who has agreed a move to Watford.

Liverpool will receive £250,000 for Rossiter as he has joined a non-English club, and remain in negotiations over a fee for Sinclair which will likely go to tribunal.

Also included on the list is Jose Enrique, who was released from his contract earlier in the season, and former Bayer Leverkusen starlet Samed Yesil.
