Liverpool will continue to resist all offers for Philippe Coutinho following Barcelona’s failed bid.
A £72 million bid from the Catalan giants was rejected by the Reds as he emerged as a potential replacement for a Paris Saint-Germain-bound Neymar.
Coutinho, 25, remains happy at Liverpool, having signed a new five-year contract in February which places him as the highest-earning player in the club’s history.
The Brazil international has continually shot down suggestions he could leave Anfield amid continued interest from both Barcelona and the Ligue 1 outfit.
Jurgen Klopp has responded to Barca’s firm interest in Coutinho insisting that Liverpool have no intention of selling the playmaker at any price.
He said: “Yes, [Coutinho is not for sale], but that’s not since this morning or yesterday, I’m not sure if it was different at any time. So, yes.
“I’m not surprised that any club is interested in players, if it is like this. A few people obviously see that Liverpool has a few good players. That’s how it is.
“But a very important message, maybe: we are not a selling club.
“We believe in working together, we believe in development together. We believe in using the basis.
“We want to work together, we want to make the next step together and for this we need to stay together. That’s how it is.”
