Klopp: Liverpool FC will reject all Coutinho offers

Jurgen Klopp insists that Liverpool will reject all attempts by Barcelona to sign Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho continues to be linked with a summer move to the Nou Camp, with reports in the Catalan press claiming the playmaker had agreed to a switch.

Barca reportedly anticipate a £70 million price tag for the Brazil international despite the absence of an automatic buy-out clause in his Reds contract.

Liverpool handed Coutinho a new five-year deal in January in attempts to stave off interest from Barca amid a recent history of losing key players to La Liga.

Luis Suarez joined the Catalans in 2014 following an emphatic final season at Anfield which almost ended with the club winning the Premier League title.

That theme began in summer 2009 as Xabi Alonso moved to Real Madrid which was followed by Javier Mascherano’s switch to Barcelona just 12 months later.

Klopp, however, remains calm about Coutinho’s long-term future with Liverpool.

He said: “When did he sign his new contract? So that would be a nice idea [to sell him], with a £400m clause!

“There are absolutely no plans. What our owners say is there is the absolute opportunity not to sell anybody if we do not want to.

“That means we can bring in others players and it is a good situation. We have a stable squad with a good basis.

“We want to bring a few in with fresh blood but nobody will leave us without our say, so I am completely relaxed about this.”
