Sevilla emerge as latest Mamadou Sakho suitors

Sevilla have emerged as the latest club to target Liverpool outcast Mamadou Sakho.

Sakho’s Anfield career is set to come to an end later this month after the defender spent the first half of the season in the wilderness.

Jurgen Klopp has called time on the France international following a series of misdemeanours in the wake of UEFA dropping their doping case against him.

Klopp sent Sakho home from the Reds’ pre-season tour of America for breaking club protocol while he was ostracised to the U23 set-up following a social media rant.

A host of clubs have expressed interest in signing the 26-year-old, with Sevllla now joining West Brom, Southampton and Galtasaray among would-be suitors.

The Europa League holders have enquired about Sakho as they prepare to fill the void left by Timothee Kolodziejczak’s move to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Sakho is understood to be a player who fits the profile of Sevilla manager Jorge Sampaoli, which could see him securing a move to La Liga later this month.

Liverpool are keen on securing the centre-back’s permanent exit rather than a loan deal after he refused offers of the latter in the previous transfer window.
