Moyes considers fresh Everton FC transfer raid

Sunderland are considering a late bid for unwanted Everton striker Arouna Kone before tonight’s transfer deadline.

Ronald Koeman revealed yesterday that the Ivorian striker was free to leave Goodison Park and admitted that there had already been bids for his services.

The Ivorian striker finds himself out of contention at present with Enner Valencia the preferred back-up to first choice Romelu Lukaku.

Championship side Queens Park Rangers have been linked with a move throughout January but it is believed that Kone would prefer to remain in the Premier League.

He may get that wish as the Mirror reports that Sunderland are considering making a late bid before the 11 pm deadline.

Black Cats boss David Moyes is looking to add to his forward options and has already seen three bids rejected by Leicester City for want-away striker Leonardo Ulloa.

Should they fail to capture the Argentine, which looks increasingly likely, then the Mirror reports that the former Everton manager will move for 33-year-old Kone instead.

Moyes has already signed two Everton players in this window, completing deals for Darron Gibson and Bryan Oviedo on Monday and seemingly has no qualms about taking more Blues players to the Stadium of Light.
