Everton have reportedly walked away from their plans to sign Ishak Belfodil.
The striker’s proposed move had been held up by the alleged involvement of intermediaries including Romelu Lukaku’s former agent Christophe Henrotay.
Belfodil was due to finalise his switch from Standard Liege last Friday but the attempted complications of the £10.5 million deal saw the transfer stall.
However it has emerged that the Blues themselves have reportedly pulled the plug on the Algeria international following the prolonged delays.
Reports in Belgium claim that the deal has been ended due to concerns by Ronald Koeman about Belfodil’s compatibility to his squad’s needs.
Het Niewsblad report that the Everton manager is unconvinced by the 25-year-old’s track record despite scoring eight times in 19 games for Standard this season.
Belfodil’s career has seen him represent seven different clubs over the past eight years with spells at a host of Serie A sides including Inter Milan and Parma.
