Unwanted Everton striker Oumar Niasse struck a hat trick to help the club’s under-23 side to a 6-3 comeback against Reading.
Niasse recently revealed his frustration at life within the youth ranks at Goodison Park but helped the Blues remain atop the Premier League 2 table last night.
He remains out of favour under Ronald Koeman but hit three goals in 21 minutes as David Unsworth’s side reversed a two-goal deficit at Adams Park.
It was the Senegal international’s first goals since recording one apiece in the wins over Arsenal and Manchester United’s U23 sides last month.
Kieran Dowell, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Liam Walsh all scored after the interval to ensure Everton recorded a sixth win out of seven league games.
