Yannick Bolasie says joining Everton was a ‘no-brainer’ but knows he faces a fight for his first-team place.
The Democratic Republic of Congo international signed a five-year deal after Crystal Palace accepted a £25 million bid from the Blues.
Bolasie could make his Everton debut in Saturday’s trip to West Brom, ironically the opposition against whom he last featured for the Eagles.
But he insists that there is no room for complacency since his move to Goodison Park.
He said: “I’m looking forward to putting on the Everton shirt.
“This is a big club and I know all about it from having played against them over the years. For me, it was a no-brainer to come here.
“But now that I’ve come to Everton, the job is not done. I’ve got to work hard and feel my way in. I’m ready and up for the challenge.
“It’s not about the money for me. It’s about looking at the ambition of the club and where they are trying to get to. I just like to play football.”
