Ronald Koeman has opened the door to Ross Barkley’s potential stay at Everton.
Barkley faced a potential departure from the Blues after rejecting a new long-term contract before entering the final 12 months of his existing deal.
Tottenham and Chelsea have both emerged as potential suitors for the want-away England international but are yet to formalise their interest.
Koeman confirmed that Everton still have not received any approaches or offers from clubs for Barkley but has not ruled out reintegrating him into his plans.
He said: “I don’t have any update and there is no offer on the table for Ross.
“That means he will stay in Everton until now. What will happen in the coming weeks, I don’t know.”
“Yes of course (he could stay), because the player has one year contract [remaining] and if there is no offer maybe the club will not accept the offer that will come in.
“Of course if somebody likes to buy Ross then it’s a big deal.”
“I expected really to have offers on the table for Ross because he made the decision not to sign a new contract,” added Koeman.
“But if there is no, at the moment, interest he will stay and be part of the team. Finally the best 11 will start the game.”
