Aiden McGeady concedes defeat on Everton FC future

Everton misfit Aiden McGeady has accepted that he has no future at the club.

The Republic of Ireland winger was farmed out on loan to Preston North End after failing to convince new Blues manager Ronald Koeman.

McGeady also spent part of the previous campaign away from Goodison Park after Roberto Martinez allowed him to spend a half-season at Sheffield Wednesday.

And despite having another 12 months remaining on his current deal, the 30-year-old concedes that he is unlikely to force his way into Koeman’s plans this summer.

“I’ve still got another year at Everton but I think it is quite clear that I’m not part of the manager’s plans there,” he told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

“I will see how it goes until the end of the season and see what happens in the summer.

“If it comes to it and Preston want to offer me something, I like it here.”
