Ronald Koeman has confirmed that Everton are pursuing a deal for Ademola Lookman.
A deal for the 19-year-old is expected to be struck between the Blues and Charlton Athletic when the transfer window reopens on January 1.
Everton are prepared to pay up to £11 million to lure Lookman away but a provisional loan return to the League One outfit has proved a divisive issue.
Koeman admits that a deal may not be swiftly concluded but admitted that Goodison Park officials were working on a deal for the prodigious striker.
He said: “There is interest for the boy, yes.
“Will it be done early? I don’t know.
“Of course we are working on the January window. We have certain interest in some players but we have to keep that inside the club.
“Some names are true and some names are not true. That’s all speculation. One time it’s possible but most of the time it’s bulls**t.”
