Everton have reportedly set Romelu Lukaku’s asking price ahead of an anticipated summer bidding war.
The Belgium international’s father recently revealed a host of European clubs, including Bayern Munich and Manchester United, are pursuing the Blues striker, who has struck 18 Premier League goals this season.
Lukaku, a £28 million signing from Chelsea in 2014, himself has revealed ambitions of playing in the Champions League next season, which points to an inevitable departure.
He said: “That is the next step for me. I’m 23 next summer and I think it would be nice to play in the Champions League from next season.”
But Goodison Park officials are understood to have warned potential suitors of the hefty premium they will have to pay should the 22-year-old leave Everton in the close season.
According to the Daily Mirror, only opening bids of £50 million will be considered in allowing Lukaku to be prised away from Merseyside.
