Everton FC dealt blow in bid to offload Niasse

Everton have been dealt a blow in their efforts to offload Oumar Niasse.

Niasse is yet to feature for the Blues’ first-team this season after being banished to the under-23 setup by Ronald Koeman at the beginning of the campaign.

A January exit appeared the most viable option for the unfancied Senegalese striker, who was a £13.5 million arrival from Lokamotiv Moscow last February.

Turkey remained a likely destination with several Super Lig sides expressing an interest in the summer but Galatasaray have decided not to pursue a deal.

The Istanbul club was the subject of a bizarre ‘come and get me’ plea from Niasse last month but chief executive Levent Nazifoglu has refuted claims of a potential singing.

When asked about the prospect of signing the Everton misfit or Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Nazifoglu told FutbolArena: ”No, that’s not true. We’re not interested in both of them.

“We want players to have match fitness, we’ll target these kind of players.

“We need players that come and play straightaway. We can’t take that risk again.”
