A boy has been charged over alleged plans to emulate the Southport attack.
The 16-year-old from Kirkby faces one count of making threats to kill and four on possession of documents likely to be useful in preparing acts of terrorism.
According to Sky News, he was said to have contacted Merseyside Police on August 6 this year and allegedly made threats to kill members of the public.
The teenager is accused of plotting a ‘copycat’ of the Southport tragedy by targeting a Taylor Swift-themed event and wearing a similar outfit to killer Axel Rudakubana.
He was also considering attacking his former school after dropping out while there was evidence he had also researched high school shootings in the United States.
Police arrested him in August when they found him in possession of PDF files related to Al-Qaeda training, making explosive devices and producing
He was found to have downloaded the same Al-Qaeda training manual used by Rudakubana to produce the deadly poison ricin alongside ones about making explosive devices.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons due to his age, initially appeared at Liverpool Youth Court but his case was transferred to the Old Bailey in London.
He has been remanded in youth custody since his last hearing on September 26.
