Bolasie’s Everton FC injury nightmare continues

Yannick Bolasie will need to undergo a second knee operation as his Everton injury nightmare continues.

Bolasie was ruled out for the second half of a debut season with the Blues by ligament damage sustained during the draw with Manchester United earlier this month.

Goodison Park chiefs fear that the DR Congo winger could be sidelined for up to 12 months by the injury, for which he underwent surgery in London this week.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has today confirmed that Bolasie will have to go under the knife again for another corrective procedure in the New Year.

He said: “He had his first surgery yesterday.

“The surgery was about his meniscus, and now he has to wait for nine to 10 weeks before surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament.

“He will be out for a long time.”
