Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson is set to extend his loan spell at Tranmere Rovers following a successful month at the club.
The centre-back, who helped Rovers keep a clean sheet away to Crewe Alexandra at the weekend, has agreed to stay on at Prenton Park until January 2013.
Rovers manager Ronnie Moore said on the club's official website that a deal will be wrapped up within the next few days, thanking Boro boss Tony Mowbray for facilitating the extension.
Moore said: "That will all be sorted next week and we'll extend it until January 2nd.
"We've agreed everything with Middlesbrough and I thank Tony for helping us with it."
Gibson expressed enthusiasm at the news, praising the players and coaching staff at the League One club.
"The lads and coaching staff have all been brilliant and the people behind the scenes have been fantastic. I’ve loved every minute of it," he said.
"It looks like it's pretty much all sorted so it just needs to be signed. I think all parties are happy with what’s happened so far."
Tranmere are next in League One action next Saturday when they take on Coventry City at home.
