Tranmere are hoping to bring in two players ahead of today's transfer deadline, while the Thomas-Moore saga is set to reach its conclusion.

Tranmere boss Parry has been left with gaping holes in his squad following a spate of injuries last week, and is looking to tie up a deal for a midfielder and centre back.

With Paul McLaren, Joss Labadie and Nick Wood all ruled out for up to a fortnight, Tranmere are short in both areas.

And with Marlon Broomes, Ash Taylor and Alan Mahon already on the treatment table, Parry was forced to field left back Bakayogo in the centre of defence at Dagenham, with deputising centre half Blanchard having been pushed into midfield to replace McLaren.

Parry said: “We need to bring in two players before the game. We need a centre-back and a midfielder and all of our energies will be pushed towards getting them in."

But with resources running dry following yesterday's completion of the Sam Morrow deal, fans have been told not to expect any new signings to be permanent.

Parry added: “We are probably looking at a loan in both cases unless an ideal permanent signing comes on the scene and that does not look like happening at the moment.

"We are being hit hard in certain positions.”

Meanwhile, the Thomas-Moore ordeal will reach its conclusion today, following weeks of speculation.

While last week Parry had moved to reassure fans the striker was odds-on to stay, the signing of fellow striker Morrow and Thomas-Moore's absence at Dagenham added fuel to the fire.

Millers' boss Ronnie Moore has gone on record as saying he is unwilling to match Tranmere's valuation of £50,000, and Parry has confirmed the Wirral club have rejected Rotherham's last offer of £30,000.

And according to Parry, if there is still no agreement by the end of the day then the deal is dead in the water.

He said: “Nothing changed on the Ian situation over the weekend and we only have until the close of the transfer window if anything is going to happen.

"I can’t affect the situation so it’s pointless me worrying about it.”
