Northern Irish club Coleraine have tonight confirmed striker Sam Morrow is set to join Tranmere after the two clubs agreed a fee.
A statement on Coleraine's website read: "An undisclosed fee has been agreed with the English League One club which will see Morrow, who joined the Bannsiders in February, move to Merseyside.
"The club expect the details of the transfer to be finalised over the next few days."
And in another development, Tranmere striker Terry Gornell is reportedly set to move to Accrington Stanley, according to Sky Sports.
With Les Parry signing strikers Lucas Atkins and Adam McGurk earlier in the week, it would make sense that Gornell would leave to fund the move for Morrow.
And with Parry confirming that Ian Thomas-Moore is '70-30' odds on to stay after reaffirming his desire to remain at the Wirral club, Rovers would retain a healthy competition for places upfront.
The Rovers manager, who has been impressed by Morrow during his trial, earlier spoke of his desire to see a deal agreed for the 25-year-old.
He said: "We've got Sam Morrow on trial at the moment and he looks a bit of a class act.
"He needs to improve his fitness but I'm sure if we get him fit we'll see a decent player."
It now remains to be seen whether the player can agree personal terms ahead of the weekend's game at Dagenham & Redbridge.
