Tranmere are on the verge of signing Northern Irish striker Sam Morrow, according to the Londonderry Sentinel.
According to the Sentinel, Morrow is due on Merseyside for a medical later this week, having sat out of his current side Coleraine's match this weekend.
And with Ian Thomas-Moore on the verge of a move to Rotherham, Morrow seems set to be his replacement, having apparently impressed Rovers' scouts during a pre-season tournament in Scotland.
The story on the Sentinel website read: "Sammy Morrow looks set to be joining Tranmere Rovers before this week's transfer deadline, after it's thought both clubs have agree a fee."
25-year-old Morrow began his career at Ipswich Town, but failed to breakthrough from the youth team and moved to Hibernian in 2004.
The 6ft tall striker had a successful spell at hometown club Derry City, scoring 14 times in 44 appearances before moving to Coleraine in January of this year.
Rovers have yet to confirm their interest in Morrow, but Les Parry spoke earlier today of his desire to see the Thomas-Moore saga reach a conclusion one way or the other.
And Parry is still waiting to hear from Lucas Akins and Adam McGurk, having offered both young strikers year-long deals late last week.
