Tiger Woods shuns $75 million dollar deal

Shamed golf superstar Tiger Woods has turned down a whopping $75 million dollar sponsorship deal with bookies Paddy Power.

The 'sex-addict' golf star has lost millions in deals over recent months, including big-money contracts with Gatorade and US telecoms company AT&T.

But despite the landslide collapse in Tiger's earnings the 34-year-old shunned the Irish bookmakers offer of a 5-year advertising deal, because the $75 million dollar offer wasn't lucrative enough.

Paddy Power's PR Manager Ken Robertson said: "We're a huge international brand, with one of the biggest betting networks in the world.

"We made a very generous offer to Tiger, who is a huge brand himself, but unfortunately his management company IMG have told us the offer has been rejected.

"I must say I was shocked that such a big offer was turned down, but we've not given up just yet.

"We're planning to make a bigger offer soon, in the hope of tempting Tiger to join us."

Tiger, who hit the headlines after his sex scandal was exposed, spent 45 days in a rehab clinic for sex addicts, before making a public apology to his friends, family and business partners.

However the statement was not enough to satisfy Gatorade, who joined Accenture and AT&T in severing their contracts with the sports ace.

Swiss Watchmaker Tag Heuer and cosmetics manufacturer Gillette have both distanced themselves from Woods after reports revealed Tiger had cheated on his wife Elin Nordegren with up to twenty mistresses.

However sports giant Nike and computer games makers Electronic Arts have vowed to stand by their man, and have continued to use the golfer in their ad campaigns.
