Disgraced golf superstar Tiger Woods has signed up for his first tournament since November love-rat revelations, at Orlando's Tavistock Cup, according to local sources.
Reports close to the exclusive Florida club claim Woods will use the private event in March as a warm-up for his return to high-profile professional golf.
Neither Woods' spokesman, Glenn Greenspan, or tournament organisers would confirm or deny the world number one's involvement at the low-key event, fuelling rumours that Woods is planning a covert return to the sport.
Tiger, 34, announced his indefinite leave from the sport on December 11, after acknowledging his "infidelity".
Woods checked out of a Mississippi clinic for sex addiction on Friday, and is expected to return to his home in Isleworth, Florida, this week.
The competition, which is staged annually by the Isleworth Club, Florida, takes place within the confines of the gated golf community where Woods lives with his wife, Elin Nordegren.
It had been alleged that the billionaire sportsman would make a more public return to the fairway in February, at the World Matchplay Championship in Arizona, though his long-term caddie Steve Williams was quick to deny reports to that effect.
However, experts say The Tavistock Cup would provide the perfect opportunity for Woods to return to the sport with minimum media access or public scrutiny.
The highly-exclusive event is open to only a small number of invited spectators, and the Orlando club have complete control of media access to the tournament.
The two-day event begins on March 22, and is televised on the Golf Channel.
