It's the final day of wheeling and dealing for English football clubs, and officials at clubs across Britain are scrambling to do their business before 5pm tonight.

Stay with clickliverpool.com throughout the day to keep up with the latest deals as they happen.

Latest:

17:06 - DEAL DONE: Confirmation finally from Tottenham that the Londoners have acquired Croation midfielder Niko Kranjcar, for an as yet unknown fee from Portsmouth.

17:00 - THAT'S IT: That's all folks, the transfer window has closed, no more bets please... Obviously new information will keep flooding in, and we'll keep you updated on any breaking news throughout the evening as it becomes available.

16:58 - Late rumours about another deal for David Moyes, apparently an Everton delegation are in Liege, Belgium, to discuss a potential move for Steven Defour. Marouanne Fellaini arrived from Standard Liege last year...watch this space.

16:55 - DONE DEAL: Portsmouth boss Paul Hart confirms his acquisition of Watford centre-back Mike Williamson for a fee around £3m.

16:45 - DONE DEALS: Everton confirm the signing of defender Johnny Heitinga, paying Athletico £6m for the 25-year-old Dutchman. Stoke defender Ibrahimo Sonko has moved to rivals Hull for an undisclosed fee.

16:20 - More David Bentley rumours, this time linking the striker to Liverpool in a year-long loan deal...watch this space.

16:18 - Ivan Klasnic completes deal to move to Bolton Wanderers, who will spend a year at the Reebok on a one-year loan deal.

16:00 - ONE HOUR TO GO! This is it folks, the final surge, still expecting confirmation of the moves of Niko Kranjcar to Tottenham, Richard Dunne to Villa, and Johnny Heitinga to Everton.

15:50 - More rumours around Ruud van Nistelrooy, Tottenham have confirmed the sale of Roman Pavlyuchenko to Spartak Moscow for £10m, and sources suggest the London outfit are discussing terms with van Nistelrooy as a potential replacement...

15:40 - DONE DEAL: Rangers complete the signing of Jerome Rothen on a one-year lone deal from Paris St Germain.

15:30 - Earlier rumours that David Bentley is at Liverpool's Melwood training ground have been disputed after confirmed sightings of the striker at Everton's training facility.

15:14 - DONE DEAL: Burnley complete the signing of 17-year-old Joe McKee from Livingston - not exactly the earth shattering deal we've been hoping for, but at least it's something to report!

15:00 - Just two hours to go, are big deals just around the corner?

14:25 - Confirmed sightings of West Ham striker Carlton Cole at Liverpool's training ground... Liverpool remain quiet on the subject.

14:05 - Bolton confirm they are on the verge of signing Nantes striker Ivan Klasnic on a season-long loan deal.

14:00 - Three hours to go before the window closes, and it looks like a bit of good news for Newcastle United fans. After their side took the top spot in the Championship last night with a win over Leicester, interim boss Chris Hughton says the club will not be selling any more of its players.

13:50 - Still a quiet day by my reckoning, although if history teaches us anything it suggests this could well be the calm before the storm.

13:46 - DONE DEAL: Activity in the Premier League, as Aston Villa confirm they have agreed a fee of £5m with West Ham for defender James Collins

13:36 - Norwich city have released former Serbian international Dejan Stefanovic from his contract by mutual consent. Could be one to watch.

13:29 - ClickLiverpool have heard very strong rumours of Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez making contact with ex-Utd man Ruud Van Nistelrooy and his agent...

13:25 - David Bentley to Everton was popular on the streets of Merseyside this lunchtime, but there are still rumours abound to suggest he could be going to Manchester City in a loan deal. Loan deal seems unlikely considering the strength of Mark Hughes' attack, doesn't seem to benefit either party greatly....

13:00 - Four hours to go...

13:00 - DONE DEAL: Official confirmation of the Ben Watson move from Wigan to QPR.

12:40 - DONE DEAL: New Portsmouth manager Paul Hart adds Hassan Yebda to his squad on a season-long loan deal from Portugal's Benfica.

12:32 - Sky Sports are reporting the sale of Wigan's Ben Watson to Championship side QPR, although the club are denying that any deal has been completed so far?

12:30 - Sounds like Sven Goran Eriksson is trying to throw his considerable footballing weight around the market, with no less than Luis Figo and Pavel Nedved being linked with a semi-retired roll at Notts County. Fingers crossed for at least one serious shock!

12:00 - Mid-day and it's all quiet in the Premier League at the moment, except for the usual transfer deadline day rumours. Manchester United's Anderson has been linked by some pundits with Everton for a fee of around £7m.
