Bookmakers Paddy Power are betting on The Queen to be saying "Arise, Sir Freddie", with Andrew Flintoff 7/2 to be knighted in the next New Year’s Honours List.
The cricketing hero bowed out of Test cricket in style yesterday with an Ashes win along with the crucial run out of Australian captain Ricky Ponting just as England nerves were starting to twitch.
The Queen led tributes to England's Ashes hero's, and a Palace spokesman said: "Her Majesty congratulates the England team on their victory and extends her good wishes to both teams on their excellent performances over the series."
Besides the possibility of a royal honour, Flintoff is 8/1 to be named BBC Sports Personality of the Year with captain and Man of the Series Andrew Strauss at 6/1.
