Manchester City have announced that they will face FC Barcelona on August 19.
The Citizens, who were the subject of a lucrative takeover last summer, will travel to the Nou Camp to face the European champions as part of the annual Joan Gamper Trophy - dedicated to the memory of the man who founded the Catalan giants.
It will be City's second appearance in the competition, their first being back in 1982 when it was made up of four teams. They reached the final after beating Cologne on penalties, only to lose 3-1 to Barca's conquerors Porto Alegre.
This will be the sixth time Barca and City have met, most recently in August 2003 when the La Liga outfit played in the opening game at the City of Manchester Stadium, losing 2-1 to the hosts.
City were originally due to face Everton in the Barclays Premier League but the fixture was postponed due to the Toffees' entry into a Europea League qualifier.
