Diego Maradona's lawyer has claimed that the Argentina manager could quit his post to become an ambassador for Premiership outfit Portsmouth.
The South Coast club were taken over by Sulaiman Al Fahim this week and the wealthy Arab businessman is believed to be friends with Maradona's cousin Remigio, currently living in Qatar, and recently announced plans to open a Maradona Sports Cafe in the United Arab Emirates.
But Angel Oscar Moyano, who represents the Napoli and Barcelona legend, says that his client could be in line to trade Argentina for England to help lure star players to Fratton Park.
"He has got top players ready and he is even ready to leave the Argentine national team," said Moyano.
"He wants to build a strong team for which he offers his mediation for signing players of top level, who with the support of Diego Maradona, will be ready to come to Portsmouth."
Despite having very little knowledge about Maradona's coaching expertise, Al Fahim believes that the 48-year-old has a lot to offer his new club.
"I do not know if Maradona is a good coach," he admitted.
"What I think is that he should be president of a club and have the right to buy and choose players.
"At Napoli he started from scratch and built a club. He has the power to transform football teams."
