Barcelona are reportedly eyeing up Zlatan Ibrahimovic as their top transfer target after a bid for David Villa was rejected by Valencia.
The Swede has been linked with a move to the Nou Camp with Barca duo Samuel Eto’o and Alexander Hleb heading in the opposite direction as part of the deal, which is expected to be completed by next Monday at the latest after Joan Laporta met with Inter owner Massimo Morratti for the second time in over a month.
The Inter Milan striker has become the subject of interest from the European champions after a bid by Barca president Laporta was turned down by Los Che president Manuel Llorente.
“Laporta called me and I repeated to him that we are not willing to sell the footballer,” Llorente told AS.
Reports in Spain claim that Villa himself is ready to pay the €7million difference between Barca’s bid and the €50million Valencia want in order to secure a move to the Nou Camp.
