A mouth watering world title clash between Kell Brook and Amir Khan can easily be arranged, according to promoter Frank Warren.
The undefeated Sheffield boxer, and reigning British welterweight champion, has added his name to the long list of Khan’s prospective opponents after calling the WBA champion to arms.
‘King’ Khan is yet to find a challenger for his April 16th date at the M.E.N Arena, following Barry Hearn’s rejection of the ‘derisory’ offer put forward to Paul McCloskey.
However, 24-year-old Brook is hoping he will be given the chance to fill that void.
He said: “"Come on Khan, stop messing about and give the fans and media a real fight that they want to see - against me.
"If he's talking big about fighting Mayweather, then why is he overlooking the best welterweight in Britain first?
“I would knock him clean out, he might have hand speed but I'm just as fast and I carry three-times the power that he does.
“I'm fit and ready to go - the only person who doesn't want it is Khan.”
Brook’s impressive record stands at 23-0 after the second successful defence of his WBO Inter-Continental title against Philip Kotey in December, and feels deserving of a shot at the big time.
Frank Warren, his promoter, said: “If he wants Kell Brook, then we can make it easily.
“It's a fight that the British public would love, and unlike some of the opponents that I've heard being mentioned in the last few weeks, Brook is a legitimate contender.
"He's unbeaten, he's number one in the WBO rankings at welterweight, and he's very hungry."
Khan has been linked with bouts against Devon Alexander, Victor Ortiz and Timothy Bradley in recent weeks, as he continues on his quest to become the pound-for-pound king.
But he will have his work cut out for him in Manchester should a deal be struck with ‘Special K’ and his representatives.
