The count down to the first World Snooker Shoot Out has begun, and with less than a week to go the players are preparing to show off their lightning fast potting skills.
Created by World Snooker Chairman Barry Hearn, CaesarsCasino.com Snooker Shoot Out is expected to open up the sport to a brand new audience.
Taking place at Blackpool Tower’s Circus Arena between 28 – 30 January the new 3-day tournament will see 64 of the best snooker players in the world race against the clock in a one-frame knock out with games lasting no more than 10 minutes each.
Commenting on why he chose Blackpool for this new event, Barry Hearn said:
"Fun-loving Blackpool is the perfect place to launch this all-action format.
"This is not traditional snooker so it fits a non-traditional venue like Blackpool Tower.
"When people think of Blackpool they think of fun and excitement and that’s how we want people to see the Shoot Out."
After an early exit at the Masters, Ronnie O’Sullivan is one of the favourites to lift the first ever Shoot Out trophy and take home the £32,000 prize with 2011 Masters winner Ding Junhui close behind, but with a random draw it could be anyone’s game.
Also set to play for the big prize money is current World Champion Neil Robertson, former World Champions John Higgins and Mark Williams, former Masters Champion Mark Selby along with snooker legends; Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry and Whirlwind Jimmy White.

In a complete contrast to the traditional game the players will be walked on by the glamorous Miss Blackpool and Miss Poulton, and losers will be escorted off by bouncers and have to exit via the walk-of-shame.
