Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy 2.0

Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy recently announced he has left Roy Nelson's Country Club in search of better training. Lets have it right "Big Country" can't offer Dan much in reality, he is a heavyweight as to Hardy's welterweight frame which means he is a lot stronger and certainly doesn't move like a welterweight, think about when they're grappling for instance, no contest really.

I ain't saying Roy is poo in the art of Brazilian Jui Jitsu, I'm saying Dan surely couldn't do much with a heavyweight sitting in his guard or any other position for that matter, the difference in sheer mass will surely overcome skill and technique unless you're Demain Maia who subs out Gabriel "Napoa" Gonzaga for shits and giggles.

Who has Hardy been training with!?

Here's what "The Outlaw" had to say in regards to the subject at hand...

"Roy Nelson is a great training partner and great guy, but he's not really the right man for me to be working with. He doesn't move like a welterweight and he's a lot stronger, so picking his brains was great, but hands-on he wasn't quite right for me. I've got a new boxing coach, a new wrestling coach, a new jiu-jitsu coach. I've sorted out everything. Being properly set up in Vegas, you don't have to travel far for world class training partners, and I've worked with Frank Mir, Georges St-Pierre, Vitor Belfort. I spent some time with Georges helping him to prepare for Carlos Condit [before his injury], giving him a look similar to what Condit would have given him. I had a great spell with him and his coaches, Firas Zahabi and John Danaher, I went to his wrestling class and it was interesting to see the things I should change in my own training camp."

If you was on a 4 fight losing streak I'm sure you would be in Dan's shoes mixing it right up, putting yourself out there under new surroundings and new people, out of your comfort zone getting your faced smashed in day after day by better opponents, that's how you improve.

The people Dan Hardy has been around lately will bring his fighting spirit back for sure and hopefully bring his MMA game back in leaps and bounds. Frank Mir is incredibly intelligent when it comes to breaking down fights, UFC welterweight king GSP (enough said) and John Danaher who is one of the very best grappling coaches on this planet, he is stupidly smart to match his coaching and that is a very scary combo when it comes down to BJJ (The chess of MMA).

With all these spanking new changes, will we see Dan Hardy 2.0 in 2012!?

Let's hope so!
