UFC 140 - Jones vs. Machida

Seven seconds from the bell Chan Sung Jung (12-3) had touch gloves, ducked a wild left from Homonick and planted a left of his own which dropped the American finishing him off with ground and pound! The Korean Zombie moves to 2-0 in the UFC.

Brian Ebersole (49-14-1-1) and Claude Patrick (14-2) had a round a piece going into the 3rd. Mr Ebersole remains undefeated in his UFC career after his grappling efforts in the 3rd round securing him a split decision victory. Brian moves to 3-0 in his UFC career.

Tito "The Peoples Champ" Ortiz (16-10) took it Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (20-5) early but it wasn't to last as the Brazilian went on to earn a TKO victory with a relentless ground and pound onslaught, Tito was not fighting back leaving the referee no option but to stop the fight! Little Nog improves his UFC record to 3-2.

Frank Mir (16-5) earned this submission victory in style, bouncing back from adversity after being badly hurt by a big right hand from Antonio "Minotauro" Rodrigo Nogueira which went to the ground were Mir was a punch away from the fight being stopped, but after a beautiful sweep from Frank helped him sink in a excellent kimura.

Frank moves up into the title picture and Minotauro won't be back for a while as he defiantly broke his arm.

Jon "Bones" Jones (15-1) makes his 2nd title defence certifying his status with the impressive submission victory over Lyoto Machida.

The opening round consisted of both men exchanging leg kicks from the outside with Lyoto attempting to rush Mr Jones with strikes and he edged it with the more significant damage after landing a big right hand stumbling the champ.

Round 2 "Bones" came out alot more aggressive looking like a different fighter to the 1st round, Machida attempted to rush Jones but the champ was prepared landing a huge double leg take down, a big elbow cut Lyoto on the forehead before Jon sinking in a standing guillotine putting the Brazilian to sleep.

Lyoto proved to be the biggest challenge to UFC light heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones but now its up to the winner out of Rashad Evans and Phil Davis to attempt to dethrone Mr Jones who fought tonight for the 4th time this year.
