David Ngog wants to stay at Liverpool FC despite West Brom interest

Liverpool striker David Ngog is keen to remain at Anfield despite ongoing speculation linking him with a move to West Bromwich Albion.

Baggies' boss Roberto Di Matteo admitted that the Premier League newcomers are interested in the striker, who netted eight times in 36 outings for the Reds last season, whilst Blackburn Rovers are also understood to be keen on the former France under-19 international.

Whilst Ngog, 21, admits that his future remains uncertain following Roy Hodgson's arrival, he remains confident that Liverpool can challenge for a place in the top four again after a disappointing showing in the previous campaign that saw them slump to seventh in the table.

He said: "I know speculation is part of football and we have to deal with it. If we bring in new players, it is good for the team. But I am a Liverpool player. I want to be involved in the first team at Liverpool.

"My confidence is good. Now I have to do my job and give my best for the team.

"I am more experienced now and I want to be involved, play as many games as I can and score goals to help the team win.

"The club had a difficult season last year but I want to prove we can get back into the top four. I am confident about this."

You can keep him Liverpool. He may well be one for the future but we need quality up front this season. He just won't cut the mustard.
