Olympiakos have confirmed the signing of Liverpool winger Albert Riera on a four-year deal.
The Spain international, 28, made just 56 appearances following his arrival from Espanyol in September 2008 and hit the headlines towards the end of last season with an outspoken attack on then manager Rafael Benitez and the club, which he described as a 'sinking ship'.
After being banished to the Anfield wilderness by Benitez, Riera's wage demands priced him out of a move to Spartak Moscow which denied him a last-ditch attempt to impress Vicente del Bosque ahead of this summer's World Cup.
An Olympiakos spokesman said: "Olympiakos announce the acquisition of Liverpool's Spanish international Albert Riera.
"The player has signed a four-year agreement."
The deal is worth £3.3million up front and could rise to £5million dependant on bonuses, which would see Liverpool recoup little over half of what they paid for the tempermental winger, who is now one of the most expensive signings in Greek football.
