Rafael Benitez fully expects to see what he describes as "the real Liverpool" in tomorrow night's Europa League visit to Lille.
The Reds go into the last 16 tie at the Stade Nord Lille Metropole on the back of a humiliating Premier League defeat to Wigan Athletic, which dented their hopes securing a Champions League place.
Benitez, however, is anticipating a positive response from his side following the reversal at the DW Stadium on Monday night.
He said: "It was a surprise the other day [against Wigan], but hopefully it was just a blip and we will see the real Liverpool on Thursday."
"The players know we have to improve in some specific areas. Sometimes how you play depends on the other teams, on quality, match fitness and things like this.
"But you cannot afford not to fight from the first minute until the last because it is really important for the club and all of us."
"In football sometimes you prefer to have some time to rest, but now I think it is better to play games quickly."
Yossi Benayoun will miss the clash with Les Dogues after suffering an ankle injury in the Wigan defeat but defender Daniel Agger is expected to feature after recovering from a virus.
Kick-off at the Stade Nord Lille Metropole is at 6.00pm GMT
