Daniel Agger has called on his Anfield team mates to reproduce the performance that saw them secure Merseyside derby glory ahead of Liverpool's trip to Arsenal.
A solitary Dirk Kuyt goal helped the Reds secure maximum points against Everton last weekend and, speaking ahead of tomorrow night's clash at the Emirates Stadium, Agger believes that a similar display against the Gunners will inject a significant boost to his side's bid to secure fourth place in the Barclays Premier League.
He said: "It was enjoyable but it was just three points. It was what we needed. We are fighting for fourth place and we got there but we'll just keep looking at every game.
"The physical challenge was good and was what we expected. It's all part of derby games. It was a tough game but we did well. We were well organised and when that is the case, it's easier.
"Everybody in the team has got the right attitude and we want to show that every time we go on the pitch. Now we want to get a good result at Arsenal.
"That is the most important thing. Arsenal are a good team but every week it is tough. We need to go with the same attitude we showed against Everton and see where it takes us."
Agger made a successful comeback in the derby following an injury-plagued spell at Anfield but the 25-year-old is hopeful that his frustrating period on the sidelines is now over.
He added: "It has been annoying. I've done my best trying to play but it has been really difficult.
"If you have something you can't play with even if you try you know you are not 100 per cent.
"It is so frustrating but you have to accept it is part of the game even though my injuries have not been that many, just big."
Meanwhile, former Kop hero Peter Crouch believes that his old club are firm favourites to secure the final automatic Champions League qualification spot. The Tottenham Hotspur striker, who left Liverpool in the summer of 2008, feels that Rafael Benitez's team are still in pole position to finish fourth.
He said: "The previous seasons don't lie. They have always been in the Champions League.
"They had a blip at the start of the season and people said other people can get in there but, if I'm honest, if you want to get in the Champions League then Liverpool will be the toughest side to displace. We have to make sure we are in there and in a position to do that."
