Jamie Carragher believes that Saturday's Merseyside derby win over Everton can act as a springboard for Liverpool ahead of the clash with Arsenal.
The veteran defender was part of the side that triumphed over the Reds' local rivals thanks to a second-half Dirk Kuyt goal and has now set his sights on building on the club's current run of seven consecutive games unbeaten in the Barclays Premier League.
Carragher, 32, feels that the euphoria of the triumph over David Moyes' side should serve as motivation for retribution against the Gunners going into Wednesday night's trip to the Emirates Stadium.
In October, Liverpool lost to Arsene Wenger's side 3-1 in the Carling Cup and slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Anfield little over two months later. Carragher is now hoping to inspire the club to their first ever win at Arsenal's new home.
He said: "It is not just three points, it has a massive impact and everyone is buzzing, but that can change if the result doesn't go our way at Arsenal.
"We beat Manchester United [in the league] and then played Arsenal in the Carling Cup and lost.
"It is important we keep that feelgood factor after the Arsenal game and that will be by making sure we get a good result.
"We are going into the game in a great frame of mind but Arsenal away is always difficult.
"We have been to the Emirates for a couple of years now and I don't think we've won there yet so it is something we are going to have to do sooner or later and hopefully Wednesday will be the time.
"For the last four or five years we have been good defensively under Rafa and we are just getting back to our normal selves. If you keep clean sheets you are going to win games."
