Final score: Debrecen VSC 0-1 Liverpool

90+3 - Full time. Liverpool have won the game but are out of the Champions League following Lyon's defeat to Fiorentina. The Europa League awaits for the Reds.

90+2 - CHANCE: Coulibaly has wasted a golden opportunity to equalise in stoppage time. He side-footed in the area at Reina.

90+1 - SUBSTITUTION: Alberto Aquilani is making a brief cameo appearance for the remaining half-minute on for Steven Gerrard.

90:00 - The fourth official indicates two additional minutes of stoppage time.

89:00 - SUBSTITUTION: Andrea Dossena comes on to replace Fabio Aurelio.

81:00 - CHANCE: Reina is called into action after Rudolf, once again causing problems, tries a cross-cum-shot. Debrecen throwing caution to the wind as they attempt to come away from this game with a point of pride. The scoreline in Tuscany is still the same and as it stands, Fiorentina will go through to the knockout stages as winners of Group E ahead of second-placed Lyon.

80:00 - Coulibaly is flagged offside after some good work by Rudolf.

78:00 - CHANCE: Carragher heads a corner wide of goal.

75:00 - SUBSTITUTION: A surprise substitution by Rafael Benitez with Yossi Benayoun replacing goal hero David Ngog whilst Tibor Dombi comes on for Marcell Fodor.

73:00 - Debrecen has been denied a second penalty claim after Mascherano fouled Rudolf on the edge of the area but again Bjorn Kuipers is refusing to point to the spot.

68:00 - Both sides are evenly matched but news from the Stadio Artemio Franchi is that Lyon are struggling to break down Fiorentina meaning Liverpool might have to face up to the prospect of Europa League football

65:00 - CHANCE: A fantastic run by Daniel Agger past two defenders and played the ball into Gerrard who failed to get underneath the shot and blazes it over the bar.

64:00 - Rudolf goes tumbling in the area during a challenge with Emiliano Insua. The Argentine defender lost possession, allowing the Debrecen striker to steal in. The home fans are claiming for a penalty but the referee is dismissing the claims.

63:00 - CHANCE: Lucas Leiva wastes a golden opportunity to extend Liverpool's lead but headed the ball wide from close range.

62:00 - SUBSTITUTION: Adamo Coulibaly comes on for Peter Szakaly in a bid to give Debrecen some stature up front.

55:00 - CHANCE: Liverpool surging forward once again with Gerrard firing a left-footed shot inside the area which Poleksic palms away. The captain has looked confident going forward tonight but Debrecen are proving resilient.

50:00 - Alberto Aquilani and Yossi Benayoun are both warming up on the touchline. It appears that the Kop boss will be looking to inject some more attacking options into his side as Ngog is blocked off by a Debrecen defender. The home side still appear to be on the back foot in the Stadium Puskás Ferenc. Lyon still trail Fiorentina 1-0 which could see the Reds drop into the Europa League at the end of the group stages.

45:00 - No changes for either side at the break as the second half kicks off.

45:00 - Half time.

38:00 - CHANCE: Gerrard tees up Ngog for a shot with the Frenchman firing an instinctive efforts from 20 yards out which Poleksic can only punch away.

32:00 - CHANCE: Debrecen's best chance of the half goes begging after Laszlo Bodnar angled a perfect cross into the area. Gergely Rudolf got behind Jamie Carragher but failed to direct his header goalwards, sending the ball out for a goal kick. Pepe Reina has not been troubled as of yet but the home side are signalling their intent.

27:00 - CHANCE: Great work by Kuyt to play in Ngog who fires at Poleksic who manages to palm the ball away and Szelesi clears for a corner. Bad news for the Reds as Juan Manuel Vargas opens the scoring for Fiorentina against Lyon from the penalty spot. Liverpool will be hoping that the French champions can overturn the deficit or at least salvage a point to keep their Champions League dream alive.

21:00 - Liverpool are dictating the game to their Hungarian hosts. Zoltan Szelesi has been booked for elbowing Gerrard in the back of the head. Debrecen are showing signs of threatening but are failing to make anything when in possession.

10:00 - CHANCE: Gerrard swings a free kick low into the area but Dirk Kuyt's flying header fails to meet it. Still goalless in tonight's other Group E match between Fiorentina and Lyon. Liverpool need to win and hope that Lyon to come away with at least a point to have any hope of qualifying for the knockout stages.

6:00 - Vukašin Poleksic was called into action when an Aurelio free-kick was angled into the box but he was able to save well. Liverpool continuing to pile on the pressure and refusing to consolidate their goal lead.

4:00 - GOAL! Liverpool take an early lead. Fabio Aurelio's cross into the area was headed back across the box by Jamie Carragher to DAVID NGOG who turned the ball home to give Rafael Benitez's side the advantage in Budapest.
