Andriy Voronin has pledged to earn a place in Liverpool's starting line-up despite currently being out-of-favour at Anfield.
The Ukrainian striker has failed to secure a regular position in Rafael Benitez's squad since arriving in summer 2007 despite an impressive loan spell at Hertha Berlin.
But Voronin, 30, is determined to prove his worth at L4 after being given assurances by the Kop boss that he still has a part to play for the Reds this season.
He said: "Last season was good for me because I wanted to play more matches.
"I went to Hertha Berlin, played a lot of games and scored goals. I was happy there.
"But I always wanted to come back to Liverpool because they are a massive club.
"It is very important for me to be here. I've spoken with Rafa and I want to take my chance, work hard and play for Liverpool.
"I hope in the next game I play, I can give the Liverpool supporters more."
