Ryan Babel believes his long term future lies with Liverpool and dismissed recent rumours of a move back to Ajax in January.
The Dutch winger has struggled to feature in boss Rafael Benitez's plans so far this season and reports from Holland indicated he favoured a return to Ajax from whom he joined Liverpool in 2007.
However the 22-year-old insisted these rumours were untrue and was adamant that he intends to stay at Anfield.
He told Click Liverpool: "They are rumours, they are not true. I had an interview in Holland and the English press totally mixed it up.
"What came out in the press here in England was not true. I like playing for Liverpool, it's a big club and I work hard every day, wait for my chance and then I will show it.
"Of course every player will be disappointed if he's not in the squad but you know it's up to me to work hard and that's what I do."
Babel was speaking at the launch of Juice FM's Next Big Urban Star Competition for which the winner will receive a six month mentorship from the part time rapper who recently collaborated with UK rapper Sway.
Asked if he saw his long term future at Anfield, Babel insisted: "Yeah definitely, I still have three years left on my contract and I hope I can be very important for the club."
